Composer Renske Vrolijk seeks inspiration for the present by paying homage to the past.
She garnered great acclaim with her full-length work #UNCUT, a piece about the journey of a transgender woman in search of her voice. She composed this piece for the Nederlands Kamerkoor,
Bl!NDMAN Sax Quartet, and ORBI.
She has composed commissioned works for various ensembles and artists, including the Nederlands Kamerkoor, Bl!ndman, Orbi, Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, Bauwien van der Meer & Caecilia Boschman, Amstel Quartet, University of Chicago, Ensemble Electra, and Orkest de Ereprijs. See her list of works.
Since #UNCUT she composed the True Love Song Cycle for soprano Bauwien van der Meer, Drift for the Berlin based Sonic.art quartet and The nose, a light-hearted children’s performance commissioned by the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
